How does CartWise make money?
CartWise earns a small affiliate commission when you purchase something through a link in the app. The commission comes from the retailer — you pay the same price you would going directly to their site or store. We never rank results by commission rate. Read the full story on our How We Earn page.
Is CartWise free?
Yes. Core price comparison — searching for grocery and retail prices, comparing stores, building a shopping list — is completely free. A premium tier with advanced features (price history, bulk watch lists, and more) is planned for a future version. We'll be upfront when that launches.
Which stores does CartWise support?
At launch, CartWise supports the Kroger family of grocery stores — Kroger, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Harris Teeter, Ralphs, Smith's, Fry's, QFC, City Market, and Dillons — and Amazon for general retail. We're actively adding more retailers. If there's a specific store you want to see, let us know.
Does CartWise share my data?
CartWise does not sell your data to advertisers. Your grocery list is stored locally on your device and never sent to CartWise servers. Product search queries are sent to store data providers (like Kroger) to fetch prices. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Does CartWise work offline?
Price search results require an internet connection — CartWise fetches live prices from retailers. Your saved shopping list is stored on your device and is available offline. You can view and edit your list without an internet connection; prices will update when you reconnect.
Is CartWise available on iPhone and Android?

Does using CartWise cost me anything extra?
No. Affiliate commissions are paid by the retailer, not by you. You pay exactly the same price whether you tap a CartWise link or navigate directly to the retailer's website or store. CartWise earning a commission never increases the price you see.
Can I use CartWise without sharing my location?
Yes. Online price comparisons work without location access — you can search and compare prices from any retailer without granting location permission. Location is used only when you want to find physical stores near you or when CartWise needs to check in-store availability. You're in control of when and whether to share it.
